LenditHome
LenditHome provides a convenient and straightforward alternative to the usually confusing and intimidating mortgage process. This 2D animated explainer video contrasts the status quo to the LenditHome alternative.
The complicated, confusing, and time consuming traditional loan process is illustrated with a small character’s journey through dark, constrained compositions, while the smart, simple, and convenient LenditHome loan tools are represented in looser, fuller compositions with a lighter and calmer blue backdrop.
After taking time to get to know LenditHome’s vision for the video, their brand identity, and the explainer video script, I provided initial style explorations with mood boards, a sketched storyboard, and style frames. In the early stages of the project, I also scouted voiceover talent and worked directly with talented voice actor Bryan Da Silva to capture the personality of the script.
The video’s art style features playful 2D illustrations with clean creams and green gradients, transitioning smoothly into the logo animation. The beginning and ending scenes bookend the video, featuring composited images and videos that directly connect the video to the viewer’s real-life house hunting and mortgage application experiences.
This motion design piece was an amazing opportunity to direct and execute the art style, work directly with voiceover talent, and infuse the animation with lightheartedness to reflect LenditHome’s personality. I enjoyed working on playful details like the tiny character animations and sound effects to round out the story.
